Jonathan Knight is primarily known as one of the leading equestrian sculptors of his generation. Whilst continuing to practise this side of his work, life in the Sussex countryside has prompted a change in focus towards the study of form and movement in animals and birds.
In a quest to distil the essential spirit, Jonathan strips away the distraction of detail and creates fluid tactile images with warmth and soul - the chariacteristic life spark captured and held in bronze. This approach sets Jonathan's work apart from the majority of 'wildlife' artists.
His work features in private collections worldwide, including that of Her Majesty The Queen.
