Flora Blackett trained for 4 years as a portrait painter at the prestigious Charles H Cecil Studios in Florence, Italy. During this time she was awarded a Scholarship followed by two private Sponsorships.
As well as being a portrait artist, Flora is a well renowned sporting and animal artist. She captures at first hand the animals in their natural surroundings, studying their movement and the compositions that they lend.
Flora divides her time between her studios in London and South West Scotland. She has completed over 130 commissions and her work has taken her all over Europe as well as America. Her commissions include HRH Princess Michael of Kent and Her Majesty The Queen has unveiled her work.
Flora has had many highly acclaimed exhibitions in London as well as across the UK and America. In June this year, she was invited to be 'Artist in Residence' to the Royal Highland Show in Scotland and in November she is sharing an exhibition with the artist Jeremy Houghton.
The show is entitled 'A Brush with the Wild' and will be held in Mayfair. Both these shows focus on Flora's Wildlife and Sporting art. 'A Brush with the Wild' has been sponsored by Holland and Holland.
