Alison Bell is a Scottish figurative and portrait sculptor.
She was educated at The Glasgow School of Art and The University of Glasgow, and was elected an Associate of The Royal British Society of Sculptors in 1998, and to Council as a trustee in 2001-2004.
She makes portraits and sketches of people from all walks of life, private and civic, young and old.
Her Wee Souls mark a departure from purely commissioned work and are inspired by a yearning for the time when we lived to the edge of our bodies, when we ran rather than walked, free of the anxieties and conventions that make us behave as adults, with only guardian angels and other imaginary friends to watch over us.
Her work is in private collections in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Sweden, Monaco, Nigeria, Canada and the United States.
